Like many other mission churches in the Austin Diocese, the Mission of Holy Cross in Bertram was founded by the Congregation of Holy Cross priests and brothers. Although our church was founded in 1943, priests were celebrating Mass in homes as early as 1920 baptizing, officiating at marriages and conducting funerals of those Catholics in and around Bertram, Liberty Hill and Leander. Holy Cross priests served our church exclusively until the summer of 2005, when Bishop Gregory Aymond appointed the first Diocesan Priest to serve the mission of Holy Cross Church (HCC).
Holy Cross is a faith-filled community that has continued to grow over the years and attract more families from Bertram and surrounding areas.
Holy Cross has a Food Pantry that is totally supported and staffed by volunteers from church parishioners. Administrative, liturgical, teaching and maintenance duties are handled by church volunteers. We are truly blessed with people who lovingly care for the needs of our church.
