The history of Our Lady of Victory Church dates back to 1908 when Rev. Juan Coma was in charge of the first construction of a frame building measuring 24 X 46 feet at the corner of Ireland and Avenue D. Services were for the Spanish-Speaking congregation and it was a mission of St. Joseph Church. The growth of the mission was very rapid and it became an independent parish in 1924.
