The Roman Catholic Diocese of Cleveland was established on April 23, 1847 and since July of 1943 is comprised of the eight counties in north-central Ohio (Cuyahoga, Lorain, Lake, Geauga, Summit, Media, Wayne and Ashland).
The territory of the diocese is 3,414 square miles.
The diocese is home to over 700,000 Catholics in 174 parishes.
In addition, the diocese has over 190 schools (pre-school through high school) and is home to one of the largest Catholic Charities operation in the entire world.
