Archdiocese of Chicago
Roman Rite
St. Dismas Parish was founded in the northwest corner of Waukegan in 1963 by Rev. Patrick Hunter, and named after the good thief crucified with Christ. Although the physical plant is small and compact, the parishioners are big-hearted, friendly, and welcoming. Our parishioners come from many different areas, and find here a place of faith and prayer, hospitality and service.
Multi-cultural parish that is concerned to recognize and celebrate our diversity. We welcome all, and will do everything we can to insure that everyone finds a home at St. Dismas.
The community of St. Dismas is dedicated to the idea that being a Christian and a Catholic should be joyful, engaging, and enriching.
